The first part of Psalm 46:10; here, the word "still" comes from a Hebrew word meaning to “let go” or “release.” The meaning would be best understood to say “cause yourself to become restrained or to let go.” In other words, we need to come to a place where we are willing to submit ourselves to God and acknowledging that he is in full control.
I don't know about you, but speaking for myself, I look around me, my life and my doings; and I see others who seem to have everything going for them, they seem to have the perfect life. I am not talking everything material, just everything in general and I tend to find myself wondering and testing my faith and asking my God:
What are they doing right and what am I doing wrong?
Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
Be still before the Lord, and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over him who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices!
Dear God, this is a beautiful morning and I give thanks to you for the blessings that you have prepared before us and that I can stay focused throughout this bible study that you have brought to us, that I will reach the hearts of many who struggle with patience as I do. Amen
I have asked for God's guidance and I have faith that this will not only benefit those of you who are here worshiping with me but that you will feel the need to share with others who you know who also struggle with patience and strength and courage.
I also asked God for the ability to focus this morning because so much good is rushing through my mind as I am sharing God's precious word that I can barely hold a thought in my head.
Let's take a look at Psalm 46:10 Easy-to-Read Version (erv)
God says, “Stop fighting and know that I am God! I am the one who defeats the nations; I am the one who controls the world.”
My closing prayer:
My dear God, I know that... you are good, and you are the greatest, you are my rock and you are my foundation; you are my God and you are my salvation. God; I want to trust in you throughout my body, heart and soul. As Proverbs 14:30 says; "A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones" . I pray, my God that I shall walk with you throughout this day that your love will shine through me that I may be an example to you and that I will be strong in you and in the power of your might. Amen
